Help with Using the BathTV Video Player
The Viewer
(please note that this is the pre-HD viewer....some navigation improvements have since been changed...but these are fairly self evident)

Technical Requirements
To view the videos on our website you will need a JavaScript enabled web browser with the Adobe Flash Player 10 (or above) plugin installed.
We are using advanced video streaming technology to achieve the best possible video quality, however this relies on a number of factors, including the actual speed provided by your broadband supplier and the way you use your available bandwidth. The capabilities of your computer may also be a factor. Video 'stuttering' and general unresponsiveness to commands by your computer can often be due to high loading of your computer by the video decoding process needed by the Flash based viewer. You can reduce this loading by watching videos in full screen mode which uses your your computer's video card hardware to generate the picture so recuces the processor load.
Playing and Pausing Videos
Click any video thumbnail image or link on the site to load and start watching the selected video. Note there's a short delay as the bandwidth detection calulates the best quality video your connection can support.
To pause a video either click on the video itself or on the Play/Pause Button (bottom left).
Volume Control
The volume controls are located at the lower right in the viewer. Clicking the speaker icon mutes/un-mutes the player's audio. Use the volume control scale further to the right to adjust volume as required.
Video Navigation
As you watch the video you may navigate or 'jump to' any other point by clicking on the timeline.
Full-Screen Playback
To view the current playing video in full-screen mode, click on the Full-Screen View button (bottom right, next to the volume controls) and this will cause the video to instantly fill your screen.
While the player is in full-screen mode, if you move your mouse at any time, this will cause the player's controls to appear at the bottom of the screen, where they are as fully functional as they were in standard-view mode.
To exit full-screen mode, simply hit your escape key [ESC] on your computer's keyboard or click the full screen button in the lower right corner. You view will then revert to standard and you'll have the full controls available to navigate to further videos.
Troubleshooting
Quality of viewing may be impaired if your broadband connection is used for other bandwidth hungry activity. So try to avoid downloading large files etc. whilst watching BathTV.
If, at any time, you find the player pausing or that the video stops completly and refuses to restart then try refreshing the page in your browser. You can then use the timeline facility at the bottom of the player to navigate to where you'd previously reached in the videol.
